We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join an agile team working on a modern digital platform in the public/innovation domain.

The solution to build is a scalable, cloud-based system that combines web platform functionality, content management, event coordination, and AI-supported data processing.

You will work as part of a cross-functional team of 6-7 specialists including frontend, backend, AI, QA, DevOps, and project management roles. The technology stack includes Node.js with headless CMS (Strapi), PostgreSQL with vector search, and Microsoft Azure, with integration of AI-based data enrichment and matching capabilities.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a scalable, high-impact solution designed for long-term evolution and continuous improvement.

Duration of assignment ~6 months.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Back-end development and implementation components on the middle level according to modern software development technologies stack

• Utilize Kubernetes to ensure successful application development, deployment, and scaling

• Employ Linux Terminal command structures to allow easy back-end operations for less-expert technical staff

• Collaborate with other technical staff to ensure consistent and smooth DevOps workflows

• Participate in decisions concerning changes to the technology stack

• Implement feedback and changes whenever possible (code review, refactoring)

Professional requirements:

• 5+ years of Node.js backend development

• 5+ years of PostgreSQL or similar (data modelling, query optimisation, migrations)

• RESTful API design with role-based access control

• SSO integration (OAuth2 / OpenID Connect — Google, Apple, Microsoft)

• GDPR-compliant data architecture, secure authentication, and backup strategies

• Experience working in AI-assisted / spec-driven development workflows

Is a plus:

• Ability to integrate AI matching/recommendation engines — structured data ingestion pipelines (Excel, API), explainable scoring logic, automated email notifications pgvector — vector similarity search in PostgreSQL

• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipeline development

• NestJS framework experience

• CI/CD pipeline configuration and deployment automation

• Headless CMS backend integration

• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders

• Strong ownership and accountability (milestone-based delivery)
